Ricky's 5th and favourite goal from the recent reds match against Spatan 7, we hope you enjoy this Reds world exclusive. GOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
Where do you think FootballHeads will finish in the league this season?
The Squad!
Paul Pannell : Paul is a regular to 5 and 6-a-side football although he plays full time at weekends too. With a lengthy footballing career spanning over 15 years he is an experienced footballer who can play basically anywhere on the field. Hard working, leadership qualities make Pannell the ideal motivator of the team. Player Similarities : Rio Ferdinand, Tony Adams.
Luke Mayes : Luke has come out of semi reitrement for this seasons league. Played football from the age of 5 uptil 17 but switched sports as he opted for a career in tennis. Luke is a key central defender although he is notorious for rash decisions at the back. Broke an arm 2 seasons ago and was sidelined for the rest of the league as a result. Has a high injury proneness. Player Similarities: Gary Pallister, Darren Anderton.
Leon Rider : Fairly unexperienced to competitive football Leon has developed late in his career to become a respected central midfielder/Holding player. Grit and determination are key aspects of his game although he is known for his hot-headedness for rash challenges and scuffles. Was a regular last season in the team and looking to earn his position again this season. May need a lift to matches as he is as dangerous on the road as on the pitch. Player Similarities: Paul Ince, Vinnie Jones.
Daniel Mayes : Lacking in match fitness, Dan has been in rehabilitation following a career threatening injury. Tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in 2006 he was forced to miss ALL of the previous season and looks set to miss most of this campaign too. He is looking to gain fitness to be used as a substitute/reserve or to run down the clock. Player Similarities: Paul Gascoigne, Steve McManaman.
Matt Hughes :
A player that can play anywhere on the field and excel. Predominantly an explosive midfielder, rumour has it he is as quick on the pitch as he is in the bedroom. He was lacking fitness early part of last season, but due to his recent dedication to the game he is at peak fitness. He is a footballhead through and through and a key team member. Player similarities: Nigel Winterburn, Ces Fabregas.
Ricky Gill :
A late starter but a great finisher. Played most of last season but managed to astonish us all with his goal scoring abilities. A calm and collective individual who always delivers. His absence for part of last season had a impact on our goal scoring, but I have heard from his own mouth that footballheads has his full attention for the summer. AKA Goal machine. Player similarities: Geoff Hurst, Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
Ross Webster :
An original footballhead, who has proven himself to b a valued team member. He is very versatile player with bags of skill, speed and the ability to get fouled. Fitness is his middle name enabling him to cover the whole pitch. He puts in 100% for every game and is a key player for the season ahead. Everyone knows this boy only has a left foot but there has been talk he has been working on his right. Player similarities: Bobby Moore, Sammy Lee.
Craig Victory :
Another original. He played in almost every position last season, showing how he can score at the most crucial points from almost anywhere on the pitch to showing his cat like reactions between the sticks. Both of which massively contributed to a good 1st season for the footballheads. He is a player who isn’t afraid to get stuck in. Currently carrying a small injury which he will hopefully shake off before next week. Player similarities: John Barnes, Roy Keane.
Ben Robbins :
A player who has been shattered by a bad injury from last season-literally. Coincidently this was the same injury that Luke Mayes received in the previous season for the Seasiders. After the injury he said that he would never play in goal again, but he has come to realize that he still has the passion to be a goal keeper extraordinaire, and win a trophy. Ben had a great start to the season, stopping almost everything that flew at him and I have all confidence in his ability to find the form he once had. Player similarities: Neville Southall, Jens Lehmann.
Duane Jackson:
Another lacking in match fitness. Duane has been known for his sheer ability and skills although the quality has been lacking of recent but is still present. Went AWOL a few seasons ago, he has made himself available if needed. Has the ability to change the game in the blink of an eye in both a positive and negative way.
Player similarities: Lomana Tresor Lua Lua, Dennis Bergkamp
